ALERT: Prominent military training center spends tax dollars on 'research' claiming conservatives, libertarians are a societal threat. Fax Congress: Tell them to Investigate and Defund the Center for Combating Terror!

Conservative American,

Are individuals interested in self-government and constitutional rights domestic enemies?

Are groups that stress conservative values or self-sufficiency a threat to national security?

According to a recent study, both of these questions would be answered "yes."

The striking fact is this: this report wasn't written by a typical liberal think-tank like the Southern Poverty Law Center. No; this "report" was written by the U.S. military!

That's right; the United States Military Academy at West Point, N.Y. - a place that trains United States military officers - produced a 148-page study examining the dangers of the American "far right," which the study describes as individuals and groups interested in "civil activism, individual freedom, and self-government."

The fact that West Point is using tax-payer dollars to study the "dangers" of America's "far right" - a sweeping term that includes non-violent, principled individuals who would fit in well at a Tea Party rally - is entirely absurd!

We must demand Congress to investigate every department and program at West Point to defund any and all activity that targets American citizens!

Take Action and Fax Congress DEMANDING that they Investigate every department at West Point - including the Center for Combating Terror - and DEFUND any and all activity that targets patriotic Americans!

The report entitled "Challengers from the Sidelines: Understanding America's Violent Far-Right" was written by Arie Perliger of West Point's Center for Combating Terror, a department that generally focuses on radical overseas terrorist organizations like al Qaeda.

This is to say that this report is a complete departure from what the Center should be focusing its energy on and that is a complete waste of tax-payer dollars.

Perliger's effort which lumps conservatives, libertarians, and Tea Party-type folks in with Skinhead and KKK groups is not scholarship, but propaganda.

The report lists three major movements as threats: the racist/white supremacy movement, the anti-federalist movement and the fundamentalist movement. As these are additionally broken-down throughout the report we find that Christian groups, anti-abortion groups, preparedness groups/militias, etc. are also identified.

Perhaps the most striking is Perliger's criteria for identifying the "dangerous" ideology of the anti-federalist movement: those who espouse "strong convictions regarding the federal government, believing it to be corrupt and tyrannical, with a natural tendency to intrude on individuals' civil and constitutional rights."

These ideas which Perliger vilifies were the very sentiments held by the American Founders in 1776 and through the ratification of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights!

Let's not forget that our Supreme Law - the Constitution - was designed to limit government exactly because governments naturally are tyrannical and do "intrude" on individual rights!

Take Action and Fax Congress DEMANDING that they Investigate every department at West Point - including the Center for Combating Terror - and DEFUND any and all activity that targets patriotic Americans!

Perliger also includes in the anti-federalist movement those who are opposed to the United Nations and global governance. He writes,

"The antifederalist rationale is multifaceted, and includes the beliefs that the American political system and its proxies were hijacked by external forces interested in promoting a "New World Order" (NWO) in which the United States will be absorbed into the United Nations or another version of global government."

Further, he notes the "Patriot Movement" as promoting "anti-taxation, gun rights, survivalist practices, and libertarian ideas." He then notes that those who are opposed to gun-control legislation are wrongfully driven by the perception "that [such legislation] represents a breach of the Second Amendment and a direct violation of a constitutional right."

How is it that Perliger still has a job at West Point after publishing such information? His views are opposed to the Constitution itself, the document all military personnel take an oath to protect!

Perliger must be stopped from continuing his "scholarly" attack on liberty and those who defend it for themselves and their families.

We must call on Congress to immediately take up an investigation to find and defund any activity within West Point that targets persons who hold conservative and individualist values! We are not the enemy!

Take Action and Fax Congress DEMANDING that they Investigate every department at West Point - including the Center for Combating Terror - and DEFUND any and all activity that targets patriotic Americans!

Perliger's report, not surprisingly, comes from the typical liberal worldview that suggests that liberals are the forward-thinkers, while conservatives are stuck somewhere back in history.

We know this because he tells us: Perliger writes, "While liberal worldviews are future- or progressive-oriented, conservative perspectives are more past-oriented, and in general, are interested in preserving the status quo." He then continues saying, "The far right represents a more extreme version of conservatism, as its political vision is usually justified by the aspiration to restore or preserve values and practices that are part of the idealized historical heritage ..."

Throughout the 148 pages, the West Point author suggests that those who romanticize the American Revolution and take the Constitution for what it says are among those who pose a dangerous threat to society! In fact, he goes so far as saying "conservative political environments" are places of violence.

His report also blatantly attacks those who are morally opposed to abortion.

Included among "far right" conservatives, the report says, are those who are pro-life. Perliger notes that individuals among this group believe that "since every human being is created in the image of God, it is by definition a sin to end their lives before they have been able to enjoy love and life of this planet." Further, he notes that these so-called far-rightists believe that the abortion industry is "a mechanism for the systematic killing of innocent and pure human beings."

In writing this, is Perliger suggesting that the entire Catholic Church, for example, is somehow a terrorist cell?

Religious conviction and assembly are protected by the First Amendment because religion is an integral part of the way of life for many Americans - our sacred right of conscience must never be taken away, not by our fellows or by our government.

This is to say that Perliger's "official" propaganda has no place at West Point for it has nothing to do with actual national security. Pro-life Americans should never be the object of study on terrorism!

Take Action and Fax Congress DEMANDING that they Investigate every department at West Point - including the Center for Combating Terror - and DEFUND any and all activity that targets patriotic Americans!

We never thought we'd see the day where those interested in self-government, self-determination, and conservative values would be the object of an official "study" from West Point's Center for Combating Terror.

Arie Perliger's report "Challengers from the Sidelines: Understanding America's Violent Far-Right" is an abuse of office and ought to be recognized for what it is: a piece of liberal propaganda.

The fact is, if we took Perliger's criteria seriously, the "Declaration of Independence" may as well be outlawed as a terrorist manifesto! Further, the "Bill of Rights" may as well be thrown into the garbage.

This entire study, as a GOP congressional staffer told the Washington Times, is complete "junk" and the first place that Congress should look to cut spending in the Defense Department.

Not only that, this report - the "junk" study that it is - endangers people like you and me: individuals who believe in the right to keep and bear arms, low-taxes, preparedness, and self-government!

What is this report's goal? What policies does it seek to affect? The American Police State, if it receives the doctrine published by Perliger, will without a doubt become much more dangerous.

Already we have seen Obama's dictatorial anti-gun executive orders and have evidence for suggesting the government has prepared for "emergency" martial law. Further, why is Obama looking for military leaders who are willing to fire on American citizens? And why do we have the Army advertising positions for internment/resettlement specialists?

Washington grows every day, and every inch that it takes cost us more of our freedom.

The last thing we need to do is sit in silence and do nothing about it.

The fact that West Point has published a study which labels patriotic Americans as potential terrorists should tell us that we must take action against it!

No tax-dollars should ever fund anything that jeopardizes the safety of the American people.

Take Action and Fax Congress DEMANDING that they Investigate every department at West Point - including the Center for Combating Terror - and DEFUND any and all activity that targets patriotic Americans!
