Palin's Cry: Cling to Your God, Guns, Constitution

By
LAKELAND | Former Alaskan governor Sarah Palin was fired up about God and country when she spoke Friday at Southeastern University in Lakeland. And she was dressed for the part.
The 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate visited the Sunshine State at the request of the organizers of the school's seventh annual leadership forum. She was quite a presence on the stage, in a lipstick-red suit and fierce high heels.
Her passionate talk was peppered with such vibrant cries as "Cling to your God, your guns, your Constitution!" and pleas for the next generation to change the country's moral fiber. "That will make our foundation crumble if we choose to ignore it," she said.
Not one to tiptoe around sensitive topics, Palin got right to the point on reasons she said the country is in crisis.
"Today, look around, and don't you wonder sometimes if, as a nation, we have forgotten God altogether? This is a crucial question," she said.

Palin said the school asked her to talk about hope and resilience. She said she would but "not that Washington, D.C., ‘hopey-changey' blah, blah, blah stuff, but real hope."
Mostly, the 49-year-old hammered such topics as the corruption of Washington, D.C. — "It's a hotbed of cronyism" — and federal spending — "The federal government is bloated, corrupt and out-of-control."
The Forum is a fundraising event for scholarships at Southeastern, and sponsors pay for the speakers. Southeastern officials don't disclose how much speakers are paid, but it was reported Palin received $75,000 in May 2010 to speak at California State University, Stanislaus.

Palin said Friday she was happy to visit a Christian school, and she encouraged students to go forth and spread the word. She encouraged them to "infiltrate" the nation. Study journalism, she said. Get into Hollywood and the sports world.
"Get out there and influence culture," she said.
Palin closed her talk with a battle cry.
"The future of the country depends on what you do," she said. "God bless you."
After the speech, Palin answered questions from Southeastern professor Christina Gard, who was Miss Alaska in 2004. It was then Palin said something that brought the strongest applause.
Asked how she dealt with critics, Palin said it's important to know who you are, and that's why she speaks out for God publicly in a country where she said it's often frowned upon or against the law to talk about religious beliefs.
"God deserves so much better than what we give him," she said. "What has happened when we can't say his name in public?"

Drone Nearly Collides with Commercial Airliner Over NYC; Feds ‘Know Nothing’

d8b4d1585f390d954b9736a3c7431b1c_M
JFK Air Traffic Control to Alitalia Flight 608: Uh, what did you see?
Alitalia to JFK: We saw a drone, a drone aircraft.
JFK to Alitalia: What altitude did you see the aircraft?
Alitalia to JFK: About 1,500 feet.
That was the harrowing exchange from March 4 between an air traffic controller at New York City’s JFK International Airport and a commercial airliner about to land there.
The conversation and the close encounter take on an even more frightening aspect given the Obama administration’s claim that the president is empowered in an “extraordinary circumstance” to deploy drones to assassinate targets within the United States.
Despite several days of investigation by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the FBI, there are still more questions than answers surrounding the drone sighting and the near collision over Queens in New York City, a borough with a population of over two million.

Some of the details of the event are known, however. When Alitalia Flight 608 was on its final approach about three miles from JFK runway 31R, the pilot saw a black drone powered by four propellers and about three feet in diameter. According to the pilot’s account of the sighting, the drone flew within 200 feet of the plane full of passengers.
Questions: Who was controlling the drone? Why was it flying dangerously close to a commercial jetliner? Who owns the unmanned aerial vehicle? Who issued the license? Who knew of its flight path?
The FAA is the federal agency charged with issuing licenses for domestic drone controllers, but it claims it knows nothing about the drone in question.
The FBI says it’s in the dark, too.
“The FBI is asking anyone with information about the unmanned aircraft or the operator to contact us,” said Special Agent John Giacalone in statement released after the incident. “Our paramount concern is the safety of aircraft passengers and crew,” he added.

The Revolt Against FEMA

Superstorm Breezy Point

Some New Jersey hurricane victims are complaining that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is doing more harm than Superstorm Sandy did when it hit over four months ago and washed away their homes and businesses.
“FEMA has caused more damage to the shore than Sandy did,” said George Kasimos, a flood victim from Toms River, N.J.
He is the founder of the growing grassroots group, Stop FEMA Now. The group feels FEMA is responsible for suffering and uncertainty for many Sandy victims who cannot start to rebuild.
FEMA issued Advisory Base Flood Elevation Maps as a provision of the Biggert-Waters Flood Insurance Reform Act of 2012, which was signed by President Barack Obama last July. That act expands flood zones, doubles flood insurance premiums, and requires those in certain flood zones to elevate their homes.
Stop FEMA Now is calling on Congress to revise the Biggert-Waters Act and curb FEMA’s power.
“We need answers,” Kasimos said.
He said residents need to know if raising their homes is a requirement and if the preliminary flood elevation maps will be changed.
Additionally, critics say, questions about appealing the flood designations and availability of flood mitigation grants need to be addressed quickly so Sandy victims can begin to rebuild.
FEMA will issue its revised maps in August.
However, residents do not feel they should have to wait another five months to start to rebuild and are questioning the preliminary issued flood maps.

Is It Time for Old Soldier McCain to Fade Away?

images
oped: Indeed it is...he and Lindsey Graham...both voted yea on Brennean's confirmation see: http://sharlaslabyrinth.blogspot.com/2013/03/no-bible-for-brennan-swearing-in.html
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Senator John McCain (R, AZ) continues his criticism of fellow Republicans for filibustering confirmation of CIA Director John O. Brennan over the White House’s drone policy.
While interviewing with the Huffington Post, McCain used the term “wackos” to describe Senator Rand Paul (R, KY), Senator Ted Cruz (R, TX) and Representative Justin Amash (R, MI).
“They were elected, nobody believes that there was a corrupt election, anything else…But I also think that when, you know, it’s always the wacko birds on right and left that get the media megaphone,” said McCain.
When pressed for clarification on who the wackos are, McCain responded “Rand Paul, Cruz, Amash, whoever.”
It seems like just yesterday that McCain was relishing his role as maverick, while using the megaphone provided him by the media to gain the 2008 GOP presidential nomination.
Some Republicans, led by McCain and Senator Lindsey Graham (R, SC), worry that the filibuster, which focused lots of positive attention on Paul, might end up reflecting poorly on the party.

No Bible for Brennan swearing in

Brennan32
by: WND
When Obama security adviser John Brennan was sworn into office as chief of the Central Intelligence Agency, he put his hand not on a Bible, but on a copy of the Constitution – before it included the Bill of Rights.
The White House said of the controversial appointee, whose position in office was filibustered by Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul this week for nearly 13 hours, “Brennan was sworn in with his hand on an original draft of the Constitution, dating from 1787, which has George Washington’s personal handwriting and annotations on it.”
A report in the Weekly Standard said Vice President Joe Biden performed the ceremony in the White House Roosevelt Room.

The report also included an update from the emptywheel.net blog, which noted the absence of the Bill of Rights.
“When Brennan vowed to protect and defend the Constitution, he was swearing on one that did not include the First, Fourth, Fifth, or Sixth Amendments – or any of the other amendments now included in our Constitution,” the report said. “The Bill of Rights did not become part of our Constitution until 1791, four years after the Constitution that Brennan took his oath on.”
Wrote the blogger, “These vows always carry a great deal of symbolism. And whether he meant to invoke this symbolism or not, the moment at which Brennan took over the CIA happened to exclude (in symbolic form, though presumably not legally) the key limits on governmental power that protect American citizens.”
Olivier Knox, at Yahoo.com, pointed out that symbolism was part of the event.
“Hours after CIA Director John Brennan took the oath of office – behind closed doors, far away from the press, perhaps befitting his status as America’s top spy – the White House took pains to emphasize the symbolism,” he wrote.
“‘There’s one piece of this that I wanted to note for you,’ spokesman Josh Earnest told reporters at their daily briefing. ‘Director Brennan was sworn in with his hand on an original draft of the Constitution that had George Washington’s personal handwriting and annotations on it, dating from 1787.’”

The report said Earnest confirmed Brennan had asked for a document from the National Archives “because he wanted to reaffirm his commitment to the rule of law as he took the oath of office.”
Knox also wrote about the absence of the Bill of Rights in the document.
“That means: No freedom of speech and of the press, no right to bear arms, no Fourth Amendment ban on ‘unreasonable searches and seizures,’ and no right to a jury trial,” the report said.
Paul had been filibustering Brennan’s nomination because the Obama administration had made statements that the president might have the authority to order lethal drone strikes on Americans on U.S. soil. Brennan worked with Obama’s overseas drone program, which has killed hundreds, while security adviser.
Attorney General Eric Holder told Paul in response to a question from the senator that the U.S. never has carried out a drone strike against a U.S. citizen on American soil and it would be “unlikely.”
However, Holder also said he could not rule it out entirely.
“It is possible, I suppose, to imagine an extraordinary circumstance in which it would be necessary and appropriate under the Constitution and applicable laws of the United States for the president to authorize the military to use lethal force within the territory of the United States,” Holder’s letter said.

He confirmed Obama “has the power to authorize lethal force, such as a drone strike, against a U.S. citizen on U.S. soil, and without trial.”
In the later letter to Paul, after the filibuster, Holder said, “It has come to my attention that you have now asked an additional question: ‘Does the president have the authority to use a weaponized drone to kill an American not engaged in combat on American soil?’ The answer to that question is no.”
Another angle on why Brennan might not have wanted to swear his oath on the Bible relates to a shocking report by one of the FBI’s former top experts on Islam, who says Brennan actually converted to Islam years ago while living in Saudi Arabia.
As WND reported, former FBI Islam expert John Guandolo has long warned that the federal government is being infiltrated by members of the radical Muslim Brotherhood. But Guandolo now warns that by appointing Brennan to CIA director, Obama has not only chosen a man “naïve” to these infiltrations, but also picked a candidate who is himself a Muslim.
“Mr. Brennan did convert to Islam when he served in an official capacity on the behalf of the United States in Saudi Arabia,” Guandolo told interviewer and radio host Tom Trento.

“That fact alone is not what is most disturbing,” Guandolo continued. “His conversion to Islam was the culmination of a counterintelligence operation against him to recruit him. The fact that foreign intelligence service operatives recruited Mr. Brennan when he was in a very sensitive and senior U.S. government position in a foreign country means that he either [is] a traitor … [or] he has the inability to discern and understand how to walk in those kinds of environments, which makes him completely unfit to the be the director of Central Intelligence.”
Brennan did indeed serve as CIA station chief in Riyadh in the 1990s and he has held the official title of Deputy National Security Adviser for Homeland Security and Counterterrorism. On Jan. 7, Obama nominated Brennan as the next director of the CIA.
“Are you kidding me?” Trento balked at Guandolo’s allegations. “The head of the CIA is a Muslim? For real? … Are you sure?”
“Yes I am,” Guandolo asserted. “The facts of the matter are confirmed by U.S. government officials who were also in Saudi Arabia at the time that John Brennan was serving there and have direct knowledge. These are men who work in very trusted positions, they were direct witnesses to his growing relationship with the individuals who worked for the Saudi government and others and they witnessed his conversion to Islam.”

A former Marine and combat veteran, Guandolo worked for eight years in the FBI’s Counterterrorism Division as a “subject matter expert” in the Muslim Brotherhood and the global spread of Islamism. Guandolo boasts he created the Bureau’s first counterterrorism training/education program and twice received United States Attorney’s Awards for investigative intelligence.
Guandolo is also one of the authors of the Center for Security Policy’s Team B II report, “Shariah: The Threat to America.”
Read the report yourself in paperback, available in the WND Superstore!
“My contention is that [Brennan] is wholly unfit for government service in any national security capacity, and that would specifically make him unfit to be the director of Central Intelligence,” Guandolo told Trento.
Guandolo then broke down a three-part argument against Brennan’s confirmation.
“The first is he has interwoven his life professionally and personally with individuals that we know are terrorists,” Guandolo asserted. “He has overseen and approved and encouraged others to bring known leaders of Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood into the government in positions to advise the U.S. government on counterterrorism strategy as well as the overall ‘war on terror.’”

Second, Guandolo asserted, Brennan has “proven through his own comments publicly that he is clueless and grossly ignorant of al-Qaida’s strategy.
“Third and finally, which some would say is most disturbing, is Mr. Brennan did convert to Islam,” Guandolo said, but stressed, “I think the [larger] news is that that conversion is the culmination of the work of people in Saudi Arabia who worked for the Saudi government – and that makes John Brennan just naïve, foolish, dangerously ignorant and totally unfit for this position.
“That in and of itself, again, shouldn’t be shocking to people,” Guandolo continued. “Mr. Brennan, they have the clip where he specifically says during a public address … he said during that speech that he has learned and gets his understanding and his ‘worldview’ in large part from Islam. It shouldn’t be a large leap to imagine he’s converted to Islam.”
Guandolo’s discussion with Trento about Brennan’s conversion can be seen below:

CIA Director Sworn In – Sans Bible And Bill Of Rights

oped: John Brennan should be removed from his appointment by Congress immediately...the action he took to not swear in on the Bible and refusal to uphold all the Bill of Rights makes it quite apparent that John Brennan gives his allegiance to Islam and Sharia Law! Shame on all in Congress who voted Yea for this abomination!

John Brennan was sworn in today as the CIA Director by Vice President Joe Biden in the Roosevelt Room of the White House. However, during his swearing in ceremony, he did not place his hand on a Bible and used the “first draft” of the Constitution.
What does it mean that it’s a “first draft” of the Constitution? It means it doesn’t include the First, Fourth, Fifth, or Sixth Amendments or any of the other Amendments now included in our Constitution, as EmptyWheel points out.He writes:
“That means, when Brennan vowed to protect and defend the Constitution, he was swearing on one that did not include the First, Fourth, Fifth, or Sixth Amendments – or any of the other Amendments now included in our Constitution. The Bill of Rights did not become part of our Constitution until 1791, 4 years after the Constitution that Brennan took his oath on.”

Leaked Email Reveals George Soros Plot

The George Soros Blueprint for North Carolina
Leaked email reveals shadowy liberal network in Tarheel State
A nonprofit organization in North Carolina funded by progressive mega-donor George Soros has been linked to a partisan strategy memo aimed at derailing the state Republican leadership’s legislative agenda, throwing light on the shadowy network of liberal groups that operate in the state.
The memo surfaced as part of a set of leaked documents that also contained liberal talking points and polling data. Stephanie Bass, the communications director for the liberal nonprofit group Blueprint NC, allegedly emailed out the documents.
Bass called the documents “CONFIDENTIAL” in her email and asked recipients to share them “with your boards and appropriate staff but not the whole world.”
Blueprint NC coordinates with other liberal nonprofits in North Carolina. The Soros-financed Open Society Institute was the third-largest donor to the group in 2011, according to tax forms. Soros has been linked with other shadowy liberal financing operations, most notably the Democracy Alliance.
The strategy memo proposes that liberal groups work closely with liberal state legislators on unspecified bills and strategy and try to exploit tensions between various Republican leaders.
The memo also proposes specific opposition measures the group can take against Republican leaders. One proposal is to send a video crew to follow Republican state leaders’ “every move.”
Another is to send operatives to Republican Gov. Pat McCrory’s public events in order to pose “audience questions at any town hall.” The memo contains both a two-year and ten-year vision for the progressive groups.

Obama Poised to Carry Out Hostile Military Takeover of US

War on America3jpg
by

I’ve been told by a number of people that it would be impossible for any person to stage a military or hostile takeover of the United States.  Ten years ago, I would have agreed with them, but not now.
In the past year, President Obama has taken a number of actions that when added together clearly indicates his plans for a military or hostile takeover of the United States.  And for the first time in my life, I not only believe it could happen, but I am firmly convinced it’s going to happen before the 2016.

To begin with, Obama has been tailoring the US military to his personal agenda.  He is filling the ranks with gays and lesbians who will now follow him to any extreme because he is their champion.  He has all but shackled chaplains from preaching Christianity to the troops, who by the way, aren’t even allowed to have Bibles in some areas in the Middle East or any other semblance of Christianity. For the military coup de gras, he has been tailoring his top military leaders by asking if they are willing to shoot Americans.  Those that answer yes, are put in key positions while those that answer no are basically seeing the end of their military careers.
Next, the Department of Homeland Security has been stockpiling millions of weapons and billions of rounds ammunition.  The federal government even has NOAA stockpiling weapons and ammunition and they aren’t going to be using it to predict the weather.  This is unprecedented in American history and has no purpose or basis other than the use against the American people.

The massive push for gun control has only one purpose and that is to disarm the American people.  There are more guns in private ownership than there are people in the US.  That would make a hostile takeover more difficult, costly and time consuming.  However, the stockpiles of weapons and ammunition are just for that purpose, because Obama knows that there are a lot of Americans who will not give up their guns so easily.  Attorney General Eric Holder has already warned gun owners to cower like smokers.
One of the problems with the guns in the hands of people is that the government doesn’t know where they all are.  That’s why they are pushing for complete gun registration and background checks for everyone who owns a firearm, regardless of any grandfather clauses.  Under Obamacare, they are pushing doctors and medical staffers to gather information on their patients as to whether or not they own a gun.
Under the National Defense Authorization Act, the federal government has the legal right to indefinitely detain anyone they deem to be dangerous to the country.  They do not have to produce any evidence, they do not have to obtain a warrant, and they do not have to give you the right to an attorney.  All Obama or Eric Holder have to do is say you are a threat and that could be the last anyone sees of you for who knows how long.

Obama has also issued an executive order that gives him absolute power and control over all means of communication for any reason including an emergency.  The executive order includes all television, radio, cable, internet and cell phone communications.
Lastly, Obama is already placing drones in the skies over America.  His chief puppet, Attorney General Eric Holder has ruled that not only are the drones legal, but that Obama also has the legal right to use them to shoot Americans on American soil.
When you put this all together into one package, it’s obvious that the stage is set for Barack Hussein Obama to use force in a hostile takeover of the United States.  All he has to do is declare a state of emergency (mostly likely prompted by a forced economic collapse).  This will allow him to control all forms of communication.  Both military and DHS trained personnel will then start rounding up everyone that has or still opposes Obama and detain them under the National Defense Authorization Act.  Those that resist will be face lethal force from the drones and/or the heavily armed military and DHS troops.  Anyone resisting will be shot, since he has been given the legal authority to do so.
If Obama fears a threat from another nation, he would not be slashing military spending, cutting our nuclear arsenal down to a third of what it was and he wouldn’t have NOAA stockpiling millions of weapons and ammunition.  Everything Obama has being doing and putting in place is pointed inside the US, not outside.  We are his target, not Iran, Syria, China, North Korea or al-Qaeda.

If you don’t believe this will happen prior to the 2016 election, then please explain to me the purpose of all these things that have been strategically placed at this time.  Also, I suggest you do a little studying of history in nations like Germany, Russia, China and other socialist nations.  They all thought it could never happen to them and it did and it all started with a tyrant just like Obama gaining power and outlawing guns!

John McCain Calls Paul, Cruz, and all Constitutionalists ‘Wacko Birds’

As Senators you are supposed to be Constitutionalist...are you also 'Wacko Birds' ? I do believe it is past time for John & Lindsey to retire...They have lost all common sense!

John McCain
 by

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) continues to criticize his fellow Republicans for their filibuster of incoming CIA Director John O. Brennan because of ambiguous responses to the administration’s drone policy. In an interview with the Huffington Post, McCain referred to Republican Senators Rand Paul and Ted Cruz as “wacko birds.”
McCain also attacked Rep. Justin Amash from Michigan. Rep. Amash had this to say in a Tweet: “Sen McCain called @SenRandPaul @SenTedCruz & me ‘wacko birds.’ Bravo, Senator. You got us. Did you come up with that at #DinnerWithBarack?”

When’s the first time or the last time a Democrat criticized another Democrat from the Senate floor? No matter how wayward a Democrat is, other Democrats rarely if ever say anything negative.
Have you noticed that anti-gun groups have been relatively silent lately? There’s a strategically planned reason for it:

“President Barack Obama’s gun control agenda is looking more doomed by the day, but gun control advocates still haven’t said a word to complain.
That’s no accident.
“The White House knew its post-Newtown effort would require bringing key gun control groups into the fold. So the White House offered a simple arrangement: the groups could have access and involvement, but they’d have to offer silence and support in exchange.

“The implied rules, according to conversations with many of those involved: No infighting. No second-guessing in the press. Support whatever the president and Vice President Joe Biden propose. And most of all, don’t make waves or get ahead of the White House.”
Democrats present a united front. Republicans gather in a circle and shout, “Ready . . . Aim . . . Fire!”
What Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, and other Republican Senators did was energize the Republican base. So while the flame of constitutional conservative values burned bright for 13 hours, the limping old guard RINOs brought their leaky fire hoses to put it out.
Instead of joining in on the legitimate criticism of the ambiguous statements by Attorney General Eric Holder on drone attacks on U.S. soil, McCain was being snookered by President Obama on a dinner date.
Now Obama can say that he’s cooperating with the Republicans. He invited them to dinner to discuss the budget impasse! If the Republicans don’t go along with his claim of compromise, Obama will blame the impasse . . . on the Republicans. “See, I sat down with them. I wanted to compromise, but they won’t budge.” Of course, given the attacks on Paul and Cruz, McCain will probably roll over so Obama can rub his tummy. “Good doggie!”

Paul and Cruz were right to question Holder on drone strikes because the Attorney General would not give a straight answer. It was the filibuster that forced Holder’s hand. Holder wrote the following to Sen. Paul:
“It has come to my attention that you have now asked an additional question: ‘Does the President have the authority to use a weaponized drone to kill an American not engaged in combat on American soil?’ The answer to that question is no.”
So why didn’t he answer “no” when he was first asked this question? There was no “additional question.”
McCain and Graham are licking their wounds because the new guys decided to take the fight to the Democrats.

GOP Ruling Class on the Brink

McCainGrahamPIX
So here’s where we are. This is where the Republican establishment had better pay attention. It’s the laws of supply and demand. I had a great interview yesterday with Angelo Codevilla coming up in an upcoming issue of the Limbaugh Letter. He equated this to supply and demand. Basically his point was, if the existing parties do not offer, if there isn’t a supply of what we as the public want, we’re gonna go somewhere where there is, i.e., third party. He says it’s possible. He knows it’s not the best way, but he says the law of supply and demand might create it, if the Republican Party remains unresponsive.
If the Republican Party participates full bore in the full authorization of Obamacare — 61% of the American people oppose Obamacare — if the Republican Party goes along with it, why would anybody vote for them? In other words, his point is, where’s the party? Where are the people in the party that are willing to reflect, stand up and represent the majority thinking in the party? At some point somebody like that is going to surface. It’s either gonna be a new party or the Republican Party is going to be overtaken. At some point this is going to have to happen.
You cannot have this many millions of Americans continually ignored and unrepresented in a representative democracy without a price to pay for it.

Gen Dempsey to Moscow...!

Gen. Martin Dempsey
BY:

Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, will travel to Moscow in the near future to hold discussions with his Russian counterpart on missile defense and further nuclear reductions.
Dempsey accepted the offer to visit made Wednesday by Gen. Valery Gerasimov, chief of the general staff, to discuss differences on missile defense, said Col. Dave Lapan, Dempsey’s spokesman. Lapan told the Free Beacon that the chairman has not given his position on additional warhead, bomber, and missile reductions.
However, Dempsey has “acknowledged that there are very detailed discussions underway within the interagency on the issue,” Lapan said.
Specific dates and agenda details for the future U.S.-Russian military talks are still being worked out, Lapan said in an email.

Lapan said Dempsey has said in the past that he believes the United States “will find common ground with the Russian military on our European Phased Adaptive Approach because it is not threatening strategic nuclear deterrence.”
The European defenses will include an evolving series of missile defense deployments on land in Eastern Europe and on ships in waters around Europe.
The defenses are designed to counter Iran’s growing arsenal of missiles and what U.S. officials say will be a future intercontinental-range missile.
Russia opposes the plan, claiming the defenses will include a future advanced SM-3 interceptor variant that could be used to counter Russian ICBMs targeted at U.S. cities.
According to Dempsey, U.S. defenses in Europe are “very much oriented, … against a rogue nation breaking out with some kind of nuclear and missile technology.”
“We are committed to finding a way to move this thing forward, and that’ll continue until we figure it out,” Dempsey has said of the impasse with the Russians on the topic.

The Obama administration is set to launch a new round of strategic arms reduction talks as part of a plan to cut U.S. nuclear forces by an additional one-third from the target level of 1,550 warheads under the 2010 New START arms treaty.
Russia so far has balked at holding additional arms talks and is demanding the United States agree to legally binding limits on its missile defenses in Europe that Moscow claims could be used to shoot down Russian ICBMs.
The administration during its first term resisted such limits claiming it cannot agree to restrict missile defense capabilities to assuage Russian fears.
Missile defense supporters in Congress, however, fear President Barack Obama is preparing to cave in to Russian demands for limits on missile defenses based on the controversial private conversation between the president and then-Russian President Dmitri Medvedev during a nuclear summit in Seoul last spring.
An open microphone picked up Obama telling the Russian leader that he needed time and would have “more flexibility” on missile defenses after his November reelection.
“I have invited my colleague, U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff chairman Gen. Martin Dempsey, with whom we have a working relationship of mutual respect, to visit Moscow this year,” Gerasimov said, according to Interfax. “Missile defense will be one of the topics for our discussion.”

The Russian general said Russia and NATO had reached some cooperative agreements but disagree on NATO enlargement, NATO military facilities near the Russian border, and missile defense deployments.
“We do not question the NATO right to have a missile defense umbrella but we cannot agree with the lessening of the Russian deterrence potential,” Gerasimov said.
Sergei Ivanov, head of the Russian presidential administration and former defense minister told Komsomolskaya Pravda, said Tuesday that Moscow is not ready for new arms reduction talks and does not see a compromise on missile defenses in Europe.
Ivanov said the U.S. anti-missile shield in Europe does not appear oriented toward countering missile threats from North Korea and Iran and undermines the balance of forces for Russia. Thus, Russia cannot accept further nuclear cuts, he said.
“The configuration of the world security forces is changing and we must take this into consideration,” he said. “And this is what we do, both in planning and in the development of new weapons systems. This is the only way.”
Russia is modernizing its nuclear forces with new long-range missiles, a new strategic bomber, and new missile submarines.

Air Force Gen. C. Robert Kehler told reporters last year that the current nuclear force projected under New START of 1,550 strategic warheads is the right size to deter nuclear adversaries such as Russia and China and will provide extended nuclear deterrence for allies in Europe and Asia.
Kehler was asked about further arms cuts this week during a hearing of the House Armed Services Committee but said only that additional cuts must be carried out together with Russia.
Russia also has new concerns about China’s nuclear buildup, specifically its development of intermediate range nuclear missiles that a former Russian general said last year are being deployed along China’s northern border with Russia.
The United States and Russia are prohibited from deploying intermediate-range nuclear forces (INF) under the 1987 INF treaty.
U.S. intelligence agencies have detected Russian development of what could be a new INF missile in violation of the treaty. The missile has been identified as the KY-26 or RS-26.
Retired Russian Col. Gen. Viktor Yesin, former commander of Russian strategic forces, said in an interview in December that the Chinese missile deployments were undermining the INF treaty.

“In this area, both Russia and the U.S. are restricted by the 1987 INF treaty and the obligations not to have these weapons and other countries are allowed to have them, for example China,” he said.
The INF bans missiles with ranges of between 310 and 620 miles and between 620 and 3,420 miles as well as launchers and related support facilities.
China currently has three missiles that are nuclear-capable in this range, the DF-11, DF-15, and DF-21.
“China is pushing quite hard now in developing those systems and they are deploying them on the Russian border and it is threatening to the Russian Federation,” Yesin said.

Report: Secret Obama Group Won’t Disclose Secret Meeting Location

Screen Shot 2013-03-07 at 12.52.28 PM
A controversial dark money group recently created to promote Democratic policies and officials has refused to disclose the location of a secretive donor meeting it will hold in Washington, D.C., next week.
Organizing for Action (OFA), a 501(c)(4) advocacy group created by President Barack Obama’s former campaign manager, will hold an event called the “founders summit” in a Washington hotel on Wednesday, March 13, according to an NPR report.
According to the New York Times, donors will pay $50,000 to attend the event, where they can brush shoulders with OFA chair Jim Messina and Jon Carson, the group’s executive director and the former director of the White House Office of Public Engagement.
For $500,000, donors will enjoy a spot on OFA’s national advisory board, which gives them direct access to the president and other top administration officials. Government watchdog groups have blasted the scheme as a transparent pay-to-play arrangement.
Organizing for Action staff have ignored or rebuffed numerous requests for additional information about the founders summit.

A Violent Threat against Sheriff Joe Arpaio

Patriot,

I need your help now more than ever.

In my last message I told you about the effort to remove me from office through a recall campaign.

Well, just this week, the group behind this recall effort posted a comment on their site from an individual who stated the following:

"He should see the color of his skin and where he comes from...stupid motherf***er...let's kill him. I will kill him for free. I am going to Arizona to kill that a**hole."

Ignacio Carbajal is a U.S. Citizen living in Arizona who wrote these words while visiting Mexico.

As disappointed as I am about this, I understand that there are still elements and people in this country that have no respect for the Rule of Law; that there are those who cannot accept the majority will when it comes to fair elections; that there are those who want to thwart the will of the voters and make them pay for a costly special election.

What I don't understand is why some of these groups would tolerate the idea of violence committed by their members.

The threat was posted on a Facebook site called "People Against Sheriff Joe Arpaio." This site is one of many dedicated to raising money and organizing the effort behind my recall campaign.

And, this is not the first threat made against my life. Many threats have come in from drug cartels in Mexico to other suspects around the country. And several people have been arrested for making these threats.

It's one thing to disagree about public policy but threatening violence against specific individuals is way beyond reproach.

The same people who tried to beat me in last year's election are now trying to recall me from office and now appear to be tolerating murder threats by individuals within their organization. That's wrong.

I'm going to continue to do the job you elected me to do despite these threats against my life. I will always work for you and I will never back down one inch because of political or physical threats against me.

Clearly the people behind this recall effort are serious. So serious that not only do they want to end my term in office, they seem to want to end me, period.

I ask that you please support my campaign today with a much-needed contribution. Please follow this link to make your instant contribution of $25, $50, $100 or more. I don't have to tell you what is at stake if these people are successful.

It is an honor and a privilege to serve as the Sheriff. I took an oath to protect and defend the United States Constitution. I intend to do just that no matter what the consequences.

Please click here to make a donation today. I must have the support of good people like you if I'm going to survive this recall effort.

Very Sincerely Yours,

Sheriff Joe Arpaio
Maricopa County, Arizona

P.S. Please don't delete this email. This effort to forcibly remove me from office was launched just three weeks after I took the oath to serve another term as Sheriff. I need your help to ensure I am able to continue doing the job I was duly elected to do.

Once you make a contribution, I hope I can count on your continued support by forwarding this email to at least five of your friends and family who agree that enough is enough. We can have disagreements about public policy, but we should never threaten anyone’s life. Thank you.

Mandatory Gun Ownership Ordinance Sought By City

NelsonGuns1
by

Now this is the kind of story I like to post. Nelson, Georgia, which was established in 1843, could require every homeowner to own a gun.
The ordinance requires gun ownership, but allows several outs, like if you’re not physically or mentally able to handle a gun, or if you’re a felon or have religious objections.

City leaders say they need the ordinance because there city is in between two counties; Cherokee to the south and Pickens to the north.
Because of this they believe that response times of police will be slower.
Nelson City Councilman Duane Cronic believes the proposal is simple mathematics. The city has one police officer. He patrols 8 hours a day and that leaves 16 hours without him on call. Of course, Freedom Outpost thinks that even if more police were available that citizens should be armed. It’s as American as apple pie.
“When he’s not here we rely on county sheriffs–however it takes a while for them to get here,” he said.

“Every head of household will own and maintain a firearm,” he said.
Bill McNiff lives in Nelson, carries a pistol and supports the law.
“I think every city should do it. I think it should go countywide too,” McNiff said.
The new ordinance is closely modeled after the 1982 law passed in Kennesaw, Georgia which had tremendous results.
This comes on the heels of Milwaukee Sheriff David Clarke’s statement “With officers laid off and furloughed, simply calling 911 and waiting is no longer your best option… You have a duty to protect yourself and your family.”
Many big city cops oppose Clarke’s view on homeowners having guns. Obviously this is a problem for those who don’t want to uphold Constitutionally protected rights. “We don’t think assault weapons should be part of the setting in urban America,” said Atlanta Police Chief George Turner. “When you’re talking about the largest 66 cities in America, where 80 percent of people in the country live, people living on top of themselves, that’s a unique situation that’s distinctly different than policing in [rural] Woodstock, Ga.,” for example.

A call to the Atlanta Police Department did confirm that uniformed police officers are only armed with sidearms and shotguns in their vehicles, Atlanta does possess SWAT teams which do carry AR-15s and weapons of that nature, though clearly not the legally defined fully automatic guns known as assault weapons. Turner is simply following the language of the media and the left in this regard. Obviously SWAT teams in Atlanta carry these types of weapons. So, while Turner says, “We don’t think assault weapons should be part of the setting in urban America,” in practice he does something else. The real issue is he doesn’t think citizens should possess these in urban areas. They are, in fact, not only a part of urban America, but urban Atlanta.
This is why it is essential that those in law enforcement understand that the Second Amendment is not to be infringed upon and if someone has the mindset of leaning towards infringing upon the Second Amendment then they need to resign and find another line of work.

As Publius Huldah has demonstrated, Congress can impose such demands of the citizens of the United States. I would think cities could do the same. In this manner they are not infringing on the Second Amendment, but rather encouraging it to preserve lives and a free state.
