A Michigan woman Wednesday morning captured a picture during sunrise of what appears to be a cross in the sky, and it has since gone viral.
Mechaele Loraff of Buchanan, Mich., just north of the Indiana border near South Bend, was on her way to work when she began to admire the stunning daybreak.
“I had to pull over this morning…to take this picture of an amazing sunrise!” she wrote in a Facebook post. “I took the picture because of the beam coming straight up off the sun and only saw the cross after I took the picture.”
Loraff shared the picture with local meteorologist Matt Rudkin of WSBT, who posted it to his Twitter account; and it has been shared by many media outlets since.

Fox News posted it to both its Twitter and Facebook accounts, where it has generated a huge response. On Fox’s page alone, the image has garnered over 335,000 “likes” and has been shared over 185,000 times.
