Republicans Show True Colors With Attacks On Lee’s Efforts To Defund Obamacare

Senator Mike Lee (R.-Utah) is trying to drum up support for an effort to defund Obamacare in the continuing resolution to fund government that will be debated this fall. Unfortunately, cowardly and/or big-government-loving CINO (conservative in name only) Republicans are, as usual, siding with Democrats and corporatists and saying it’s a fool’s errand.
Lee has 11 Senate co-signers: Marco Rubio (Fla.), Ted Cruz (Texas), Jim Risch (Idaho), Rand Paul (Ky.), Jim Inhofe (Okla.), David Vitter (La.), John Thune (S.D.), Jeffrey Chiesa (N.J.), Mike Enzi (Wyo.), Debra Fischer (Neb.) and Chuck Grassley (Iowa). Five others, John Cornyn (Texas), Roger Wicker (Miss.) and Mark Kirk (Ill.), signed the letter but have since reneged. About 60 House members are taking up the fight there.

Almost 60 percent of Americans now oppose Obamacare, according to a recent FOX News poll. Since Obamacare’s passage, Republican politicians have repeatedly indicated their desire to repeal it. Yet when push comes to shove, the majority of the Washington, D.C., Republican elected class slink aside, stab the people in the back and cozy up to big insurance, big pharma and the medical-industrial complex.
Obamacare is costing jobs and creating a part-time world. Worse, it constrains Americans into a deathcare system that denies them choices about how they want their medical issues treated. Even the Internal Revenue Service head and IRS employees — who are charged with regulating who has signed up and penalizing those who haven’t — are trying to opt out.
Once again, the Republican elected class is showing its true colors. Senator Tom Coburn called the strategy “dishonest.” Senator Richard Burr called it “the dumbest idea” he’s ever heard of. Coburn also said such a strategy will cause Republicans to lose the House. What Coburn, Burr and their ilk are ignoring is the fact that conservative Americans are realizing that if Republicans don’t become an opposition party and actually begin to oppose Obama’s egregious and unConstitutional policies, having Republican control of the House and Senate is worthless.
