U.S. Senator Ted Cruz appeared on Hannity on FOX News Wednesday to discuss Obama’s FAA ban on flights to and from Tel Aviv, Israel, and announced he would block all State Department nominees until he’s satisfied that the decision wasn’t a political one based on an attempt to cause “economic harms on our friend and ally Israel.”
Responding to the announcement that the Obama regime would be providing millions of dollars of “aid” to Hamas, a terrorist group that is an offshoot of the Muslim Brotherhood, Senator Cruz said to Sean Hannity that, “the Obama Administration is the most anti-Israel administration this government has ever had,” and accused Obama of trying to “strong arm the nation of Israel.”
Cruz asked Hannity:
“Is the Obama administration giving 47 million dollars that will go to Hamas who is actively trying to kill civilians while simultaneously imposing millions of dollars of economic harms on our friend and ally Israel? The State Department needs to answer those questions, and Sean, I announced today that in response to that refusal to answer from the State Department, I intend to hold all State Department nominees until they answer these questions. Congress deserves to know and the American people deserve to know, was this politics from the White House or was this an airline safety decision and I think the facts strongly suggest it was politics in an effort to strong arm the nation of Israel.”
Shortly after Cruz’s Hannity appearance and threat to block Obama nominees, the FAA’s travel ban to Israel was suddenly reversed, Daniel Greenfield of Frontpage Mag reports:
After Senator Ted Cruz’s warning that he would hold all State Department nominees until questions were answered about the political motive behind the FAA’s travel ban on Israel… the FAA suddenly reversed itself. On the same day that the FAA had announced a 24 hour extension of the ban, the FAA turned around and reversed itself.
