Grandpa Goes Second Amendment on Three Home Invaders Trying to Rape His Granddaughter

A homeowner and grandfather, Kenneth Byrd, 67, exercising his Second Amendment rights, shot at three men who had invaded his home and were attempting to rape his 19-year-old granddaughter, according to sheriff department reports obtained by WBTW.


The home of Mr. Byrd, located in Lumberton, North Carolina, was invaded by three masked thugs when they stormed through the front door, as WBTW  reports:
Two of three men – all wearing black clothes, ski masks and gloves — stormed into the house and demanded money, officials said.The grandfather and his wife ended up in the back of the house and were directed at gunpoint to open a safe. The three men were all armed and tried to rape the teen girl, officials said.The 67-year-old grandfather managed to grab a gun and shot all three of the suspects. The suspects fired back and the grandfather was hit several times, deputies said.

One of the suspects has died, while the other two are hospitialized and will be charged upon their release.

The grandfather, Mr. Byrd, was shot several times, and is in critical condition in ICU, according to a Facebook post from a relative.

The Sheriff’s Office identified the suspects as Brandon Carver Stephens, 28, Jamar Hawkins, 17, and Jamie Lee Faison, 20, who died after the incident.

Sheriff Kenneth Sealey told the Fay Observer that the trio are believed to be involved in other home invasions.
