Even if gun grabbers in Congress are able to pass bills making certain semi-automatic rifles and “high capacity” ammunition magazines illegal in the United States, they cannot stop innovation.
The pro-gun 3D printing nonprofit Defense Distributed made headlines last year when it revealed it would begin putting together 3D printing plans for weapons components. The company has had success and failure in attempts to print magazines and even a handful of the parts required to assemble an AR-15.
The company’s latest effort looks like a success: They’ve printed what appears to be a relatively durable 30-round magazine for the AK-47. Even better, the company has called the magazine the “Feinstein AK Mag” in honor of the gun-hating Senator from California.
The nonprofit was founded by 25-year-old Cody Wilson, who said the magazine was named to reflect the organization’s belief that the assault-weapons ban will fail.
“We want to commemorate a personal failure of Feinstein’s to take away semi-automatic weapons,” Wilson told The Huffington Post.
