Indictments for eight counts of illegal voting were handed down Monday against longtime Cincinnati poll worker Melowese Richardson, who admitted to voting for Barack Obama in 2012 at least twice, but is suspected of casting as many as a dozen fraudulent ballots. Two others faced charges for falsely submitting the absentee ballots of deceased loved ones, ostensibly to carry out their electoral wishes. The casual nature of these offenses is as troubling as the high number of false ballots Richardson pumped out; her own granddaughter said "it wasn't a big deal" for Grandma to vote in her name. Opponents of ballot integrity and voter ID are protecting a system in which people nonchalantly commit vote fraud, alongside the hardcore ballot thieves.
