Teacher Asks for Report on Anything Then Gives Students Zeroes for Writing on Gun Show & Hunting

oped: This is a good case for Home Schooling...the public school system is a hot bed for Progressive (Marxist)teachers forcing their agenda on our children...not only violating the Bill of Rights and the Constitution but also forcing perversion ie: LGBT acceptance!

Dewey Christian, an English teacher at Denton High School in Denton, Texas, a suburb or the Dallas-Fort Worth area, told his students to write a report on anything they wanted.  The subject matter was wide open and left to the discretion of the students.
Marshall Williams, a student in the class, decided to write his report about his recent visit to a Fort Worth gun show.  Before the report was finished, Christian told Williams that he would give him a zero on the report if he wrote about the gun show.  Alex Wright, a classmate of Williams mentioned hunting in his report and was also given a zero and rejected by Christian.
When Williams’ mother, Kimberly, heard what happened, she and her son went to meet with Christian about the rejected report.  The teacher said that he rejected the paper because he was concerned about school violence and the report talked about guns.  Fortunately for Kimberly, she recorded the meeting with her cell phone.
Marshall said he wrote about the visiting the gun show because he enjoyed the experience.  In his report, he never wrote about shooting a gun or any mention of political motives.  His mom told the local news:

“If it went against any district policy I would support it completely, but it doesn’t. It’s just his own moral beliefs trying to be put in his classroom and I disagree with that.”
Marshall added:
“I feel like he has just stomped on our right to free speech. He told us we would not be allowed to express ourselves and didn’t even consider what we had said.”
Only after the story hit the local news and the teacher was accused of violating the students’ First Amendment rights of free speech that school district issued the following statement:
“The teacher has accepted the paper and apologized to the student for misperceptions. The teacher’s intent was for guns not to be trivialized in any school situation because of recent events.”

Once again we see teachers pushing their own personal agendas onto their students and trampling on their constitutional rights at the same time.  It’s also another good reason to pull your kids out of public school and either homeschool or put them in a good private school where they can receive a morally sound education.
