According to New Jersey Homeland Security, New Jersey Democrats and New Jersey media, these are domestic terrorists, and any Republican associating with them needs to be criminally investigated.
by:David Codrea
“The truth?” a political attack ad for Democrat New Jersey Congressional challenger and former Bill Clinton speechwriter Josh Gottheimer against incumbent Republican Scott Garrett asks. “Newspapers just caught Garrett at a fund-raiser with the leader of a home-grown terrorist militia group.”
A Clinton-backer promising truth should be all the red flags we need.
The “terrorist militia group”? That would be Oath Keepers, assuming you can believe those newspapers, which appear to be doing everything they can to sway the electorate into accepting a political narrative that folds under minimal scrutiny. Witness recent headlines:
“Republican Chairman of Wall Street Committee Held Fundraiser with Official from ‘Domestic Terrorist’ Group,” Joshua Green of Bloomberg Business Week “reports.” (Yes, that Bloomberg.)
“Garrett event promoter tied to extremists,” NorthJersey.com weighs in. “Forget Wall Street banksters. Scott Garrett has new friends, on a terror list,” NJ.com echoes and embellishes.
Sensing political opportunity and more headlines, Senate Majority Leader Loretta Weinberg has called on Gov. Chris Christie to “denounce Garrett for his ties to the domestic terror organization” and on New Jersey’s attorney general to investigate if “Garrett violated New Jersey law, adding “In the wake of homegrown terror attacks – like the ones in Elizabeth, New York, and Seaside Park – the citizens of New Jersey deserve to know the full extent of Congressman Garrett’s connections to this terrorist organization.”
Yes, that’s Loretta Weinberg of “Confiscate, confiscate, confiscate” notoriety.
As an aside, it’s curious that Weinberg was referring to Islamist “domestic terror” acts with the principle suspect being one of those “refugees” Democrats are bound and determined to seed and embed throughout the Republic. Any connection to Oath Keepers was left (purposely) unstated, because there is none, and because the agenda here is to destroy them.
Which makes it fair to ask what the Democrat politicians and their “news media” publicists are talking about, and what else they’ve gotten wrong in their ceaseless, agenda-driven mission to conflate, smear, misinform and confuse. The answer is pretty much everything.
Oath Keepers as an organization had nothing to do with event. It was “sponsored by the Bergen County New Jersey for Liberty in conjunction with American Bedrock Foundation,” the latter of which “provided logistic support for the NJ Oath Keeper Billboard Project.” This is simply intentional divide-and-conquer deception. And yes, of course the “journalists” knew that – they’re just counting on those relying on them for “information” not being informed.
OK, but what about Oath Keepers being a “domestic terror organization”? Where’s the evidence of that, including successful and thwarted attacks, leadership indictments, convictions…?
The Democrats and their media amplifiers get their cover from a New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness “analysis,” claiming:
The militia movement is decentralized, but it has two large followings—the Oath Keepers and the Three Percenters. Both have members who justify the use of violence to counter perceived threats or violations to the US Constitution.and:
Militia extremists pose a moderate threat to New Jersey because of fundraising and recruitment efforts in the state, involvement in protests and standoffs across the United States, and their ability to coordinate and organize on a national scale. The Oath Keepers and Three Percenters have been actively recruiting in New Jersey since 2012.That’s it. They then proceed to produce absolutely nothing incriminating against Oath Keepers and the Three Percent movement. For the record, Three Percent founder Mike Vanderboegh, concerned that opportunists and provocateurs would co-opt and exploit a movement, took pains to explain what the idea is about. It’s not about recruiting “members,” and those who say it is either don’t understand the concept, or insidiously, do, and are disregarding Mike’s cautions for reasons of their own.
And Oath Keepers?
Oath Keepers is a non-partisan association of current and formerly serving military, police, and first responders, who pledge to fulfill the oath all military and police take to “defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic.” That oath, mandated by Article VI of the Constitution itself, is to the Constitution, not to the politicians, and Oath Keepers declare that they will not obey unconstitutional orders, such as orders to disarm the American people, to conduct warrantless searches, or to detain Americans as “enemy combatants” in violation of their ancient right to jury trial.
That’s “domestic terrorism” in New Jersey? So are we to assume Josh Gottheimer, Loretta Weinberg, and their media attack dogs are in favor of warrantless searches, secret trials, full citizen disarmament and the like? (The answer, of course, is “Yes.” It’s what totalitarians do.)
Had just one “reporter” lifted so much as a finger to do some, you know, fact-checking, he’d have discovered the Bylaws (they have their own separate tab and everything!), which include this non-negotiable restriction on membership:
No person who advocates, or has been or is a member, or associated with, any organization, formal or informal, that advocates the overthrow of the government of the United States or the violation of the Constitution thereof, shall be entitled to be a member or associate member. That sure throws cold water on the domestic terrorism idea.
Add to that revelations — in just the Malheur case alone — that the government has employed up to 15 paid “Confidential Human Sources,” and it’s evident that where fire can’t be produced, there are embedded assets doing what they can to generate smoke. It’s why the Bylaws also specify a Code of Conduct. It’s why opinions expressed by individuals are not binding on the rest of us. It’s why we must be sensitive to provocateurs trying to incite criminal actions in discussions of principle. No shortage of trolls and provocateurs continually attempt to tar the whole with calculated malevolence serving political and enforcement/entrapment ends.
t doesn’t take much to figure out who the real domestic enemies are in all this, but that necessitates being able to get the word out and then having a populace conditioned by manipulation being receptive to it. In the case of New Jersey, that’s not realistic without some major changes, and for the intents of swaying this election, is pretty unlikely. Still, there is one thing that’s “doable,” that is, if enough of you feel like doing it.
Send Chris Christie a simple message, via email, Facebook, Twitter or snail mail (Office of the Governor PO Box 001 Trenton, NJ 08625):
Gov. Christie: Oath Keepers aren’t terrorists. As a matter of fact, if you’re doing your job right, you’re an oath-keeper. After all those gushing things you had to say about Christopher Rodriguez when you appointed him New Jersey Homeland Security and Preparedness Director, you have a vested interest in him getting things right. Please have him stop taking political talking points from leftist groups and stop tarring patriots currently serving in or retired from the military, law enforcement and first responder professions as “domestic terrorists.”Feel free to include a link to this column.
