oped: Before we get started...I will lay the groundwork...In 1964 I dropped out of college to serve my country during the Viet Nam era...during basic training I applied for Officer Candidate School (OCS) I was tested and given a ranking on OT(Officer Training) as well as the IQ(GT score Mil) test of the day...I was rated above average on the OT score and my IQ was tested t 137...being that 80-90 was dull normal... 91-110 normal... 111-159 bright normal...160 and above genius...I qualified and thought hey I am bright...not a genius but in the cool category. Disclaimer...now in me Golden years I am sure I have lost 5-10 points do to wear and tear...lol
Now we come to this article and I'm thinking wow I am up there with the Past Presidents...how cool is that?
Obviously not so cool considering Donald Trump claims to have a genius IQ 150+ sorry Donald but 160 and above are classified in the genius category...and a little disclaimer is needed... you have not posted a tested IQ score much less your college transcripts showing your GPA score
At any rate enjoy the following article.
Side Note: It would be interesting to see how UC Davis professor Dean Simonton would rank Barry Barack Hussein Obama,Bill Clinton,Hillary Clinton, and Donald Trump!
We could have a real field day on this one, as we take a magnifying glass to previous U.S Presidents and their IQ’s. But before w e delve deeper we need to be crystal clear about one thing. The formal IQ test that we know and love today was only invented in 1905 A French psychologist called Alfred Binet. That being the case, one can only speculate what the ‘IQ’ of Presidents who reigned before that time was, and that is just what UC Davis professor Dean Simonton did back in 2006. In his groundbreaking study, Simonton used something called historiometrics to estimate what former President’s IQ’s would have been based on books they wrote, speeches they gave and the like. Interestingly, according to the modern day IQ scale, most former Presidents were pretty smart, relatively speaking and it seems they occupied The White House for good reason. Just bear in mind that the IQs presented here are estimates, and should be seen as such.
