Obama to Congress: So What If I Released Terrorists; I Owe You No Explanation

In refusing to answer questions or explain his decision, which he earlier pinned on Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel, to free five of the most notorious Taliban terrorists for Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, at best a deserter and at worst a traitor, Barack Obama sent a message loud and clear to Congress. “I can do whatever I want and I don’t have to explain myself to you.” Never mind that such an action endangers the safety of not only America, but Americans traveling around the world. Obama, who seems to fancy himself to be a dictator, not a president, doesn’t care. His thirst for power, control, and implementing his agenda against the best interest of America wins out.

The Washington Free Beacon reports on Team Obama’s refusal to offer an explanation for the release of the five cold-blooded killers, referred to by State Department spokesperson Marie Hart as gentlemen.

Top Obama administration officials continued to defend the decision to skirt U.S. law and not inform Congress about the deal, telling lawmakers that “it was worth it; period,” according to one Senate insider familiar with Tuesday’s classified briefing.
The top U.S. commanders in Afghanistan—Gens. Joseph Dunford and Lloyd Austin—were not informed in advance by the Obama administration of the release of the five Taliban leaders, according to a public disclosure by Sen. Jim Inhofe (R., Okla.).
Officials maintained that “new and different concerns” had emerged about the health of freed U.S. soldier Bowe Bergdahl that forced the White House to sign off on the deal without consulting the appropriate congressional committees, the source explained.

The facts surrounding the case are completely irrelevant to Team Obama. Doctors have found nothing physically wrong with Bergdahl that would impact his health. Also, although Obama earlier admitted that the five Taliban terrorists might indeed return to a life of terrorism, a vow already made by one, the story now is that “a determination was made that the five top Taliban leaders no longer posed a significant national security threat to the United States.”
A senior fellow with the Foundation for Defense of Democracy, Thomas Joscelyn, put into perspective the danger that these Taliban terrorists, released courtesy of the deal brokered by Obama, pose to America. Stating that these five “Taliban Dream Team” members have been members of the Taliban’s Supreme Shura Council, Joscelyn gave testimony to why Americans are at risk due to Obama’s illegal decision.

“Only [Taliban leader] Mullah Omar himself has more power within the Taliban than the Supreme Shura,” Joscelyn said in comments to reporters.
“All five of the transferred Taliban leaders had extensive ties to al Qaeda,” Joscelyn further noted. “These men helped cement the relationship between the two prior to 9/11. Their dossiers show that al Qaeda and the Taliban have long colluded at the highest levels on paramilitary, intelligence, and other matters.”

The Supreme Shura council is ‘an elite advisory group that reports directly to senior Taliban members.” But, don’t worry. Obama says if they return to a life of terrorism, he is confident we can catch them again. There’s only one problem. How many Americans will die beforehand?
