Patriot,

By surrendering control of basic Internet functionality, President Barack Obama is likely triggering what will become a domino effect that will yield disastrous results.

As I shared in an earlier alert, Obama's reckless fascination with turning over control of the Internet is likely to result in kind of a "backdoor censorship" -- allowing questionable regimes, such as Russia and China, to infiltrate and takeover.

Here's a likely scenario of how:
The U.S. Commerce Department is set to relinquish control of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) that currently manages domain names, addresses and other crucial web functions when the contract expires in 2015.

It's anticipated that Obama will give the keys to arguably our nation's greatest invention and resource to the United Nations. Under U.N authority and influence, experts predict the world body will quickly move to impose an Internet tax, resulting in "a significant revenue stream."

Don't Worry Sir - I'm from the Internet.
When that happens, says a former State Department official during the Bush administration, "What little control there is over the U.N. would be gone."

Considering the recent and successful cyber attacks against the U.S. that have been linked to emerging powers like China, The Daily Caller reports, “Under invariably incompetent U.N. control, it could mean a hostile foreign power disabling the Internet for us.”

+ + Why Is Obama Surrendering The Internet?
Walt, it's important to note that there have been no issues with the way ICANN has performed their duties and responsibilities. In fact, as one official said, "U.S. management of the Internet has been exemplary, and there is no reason to give it away."

So why then is Obama surrendering the Internet?

It's no secret the President doesn't see the U.S. as exceptional, or even a "superpower." Instead, he naively sees a world in which nations like Iran, North Korea, Russia, China will simply step up and responsibly fill the leadership void that he has created.

If you believe that Obama's Internet giveaway is a recipe for unmitigated disaster that will threaten the openness and freedom of the World Wide Web, then we urge you to take immediate action.

Your petition will be used to confront Congress, urging them to vehemently oppose this latest foolish action by the Obama administration. America's Internet surrender, as The Wall Street Journal calls it, diminishes our nation while empowering those seeking to harm us.

If you believe that Obama's surrender will have powerful global, personal and national-security ramifications, go here now to sign the "Stop Obama's Internet Giveaway" petition:
