It is Unconstitutional for the Senate to hold an up-or-down vote on the 2nd Amendment

HOURS REMAIN Until Harry Reid Brings Barack Obama’s Legislative Assault on the Second Amendment To The Senate Floor.

Radio talk show host Mark Levin went so far as to say that it is unconstitutional for the Senate to hold an up-or-down vote on the Second Amendment: "The Senate intends to vote on changing the Second Amendment without any pretense of going through the constitutional amendment process — none. ... The Second Amendment exists as a protection for us against usurpation by Congress and the rest of the federal government. The Second Amendment protects an individual right and it’s that simple."

Time is running short to remind our elected officials that the Second Amendment reads: "A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."

We must remind them that it is not the job of a United States Senator to amend the Constitution by legislative fiat.

Remember, recent history teaches us that gun registration typically leads to the erosion of freedom and even directly to gun confiscation. Senator Mike Lee just reminded us: "Some of the proposals, like for example- universal background checks- would allow the federal government to surveil law-abiding citizens who exercise their Constitutional rights."
