Yesterday, April 17, Assembly Bill 118 passed on the Assembly floor by a 34-4 vote.
AB 118, sponsored by Assemblyman Skip Daly (D-31), would allow members
of the military and those who have received an honorable discharge
between 18 and 20 years of age to obtain a permit to carry a concealed
firearm. Current law requires a person to be at least 21 years of age
to be eligible for a concealed carry permit. AB 118 was first read in
the Senate today and assigned to the Senate Judiciary Committee for
further consideration.
