oped: Good to see Russia is taking a hard line stance on the so called Religion of Peace..they got it right there is no difference between Islam and "Extremist" Islam...they just work on a different plain of Jihad!
Kudos also go out to the UK also for taking a second look at the problem. Maybe one day after the next election cycle the US will wake up and take a hard line stance also!

It’s being reported today that Russian law enforcement has detained 140 Muslims, including 30 foreigners, in a Muslim prayer room. Under the supervision of the FSB, the Metropolitan Police and Migration Service were visitors to prayer house “Dar al-Arqam” in the Southern District of the capital. The police reported that in this place there were Muslims who later moved to the extreme radicalism and joined the ranks of armed groups operating in the North Caucasus, reports RIA Novosti. However, the visitors to Dar al-Arqam “participated in the preparation and execution of extremist and terrorist acts on the territory of Russia.

Russian President Vladimir Putin did announce on Thursday that the Boston Bombings did justify his hard line stand against regels in the North Caucasus.
While critics claim the raid is to flush out illegal migrants from the ex-Soviet republics of the South Caucasus and Central Asia, some law enforcement authorities have said many in the prayer room had joined an extremist group in the North Caucasus.
Russia will have the same issue the United States has and that is they distinguish between Islam and “extremist” Islam. They are one in the same. The only difference is some work on a different plain of jihad.
Russia isn’t the only country acting in this manner. The Daily Mail reports of a raid that took place at the North London Central Mosque in Finsbury Park.

A statement on Friday from the Federal Security Bureau (FSB), reported by Russian news agencies, said among those detained were 30 citizens of unspecified foreign countries.There is no apparent link to the Boston bombing suspects, who authorities in the US have said are Chechens with roots in Russia’s North Caucasus. So far Russian authorities have yet to comment.
Russian Information Agency said the detainees were taken to police stations for identification and questioning, and there was no immediate word on whether any would be charged.
State television showed men lining up and boarding a police bus after being detained.

Anti-terrorist detectives were today continuing to question seven men arrested in a raid by more than 100 officers on a London mosque.This mosque is led by a very outspoken Muslim cleric by the name of Abu Hamza. This mosque also produced such Islamists as Richard Reid, the “shoe-bomber,” who attempted to blow up a Miami-bound jet and Zacharias Moussaoui, the alleged 20th hijacker on September 11, 2001.
Scotland Yard discovered a stun gun, an imitation weapon which fires blanks and a CS gas canister during a search of the North London Central Mosque in Finsbury Park.
Large numbers of passports, identity cards and credit cards were also found.
Six North Africans, aged 23 to 48, and a 22-year-old eastern European were being held under the Terrorism Act 2000 as the documents and computers taken from the mosque were analysed.
