Representative Lynn Westmoreland clearly needs a lesson in
civility.
When asked why several conservative House members were kicked off their committee assignments recently, here’s how
he chose to respond: “I guess you could say it was an a**hole factor.”
Wow! Where did that come from?
He later tried to backtrack his comments: “I was just trying to describe an environment where some people that you’re trying to
work with, they just don’t want to work within the system.”
Did you catch that? The “a**hole factor” of
these conservative house members was, in his opinion, that they refused to “work within the system” and dared instead to buck the GOP
elite!
You see, there’s a quiet civil war taking place inside the GOP, between the party elites and the new wave of young
conservatives ActRight has helped elect.
Right
now it’s a cold war --quiet maneuverings behind closed doors—evidenced
by withdrawn committee assignments like this episode and messages from
the top to our people that “we’re watching all your votes”
(I’m not making this up).
We’ve
accomplished
great things through ActRight, including help elect Ted Cruz and Deb
Fisher to the U.S. Senate, raising more than $5 million for
conservative candidates and causes … and we’re just getting started.
We have even more exciting tasks planned for
2013.
Help us fight for the right side of the quiet civil war inside the GOP. And help us continue fighting for the brightest
future for America.
I know you care about this fight as much as I do,
Brian Brown, President, ActRight
