UN Installs Iran To Police Arms Control

The controversial United Nations Arms Trade Treaty is not only a threat to the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, but now an overseeing member of the month long conference has been named that should be cause for alarm: Iran. That’s right, the nation that our government claims is the next boogeyman is now one of the chosen members of the “bureau” that will determine what is in the treaty.
This bureau is composed of fifteen members that were elected on July 3. Among the five regional groups this is how the member nations are split up:
    Asian Group
  • Iran
  • Japan
  • South Korea
  • Africa
  • Kenya
  • Egypt
  • Nigeria
  • Eastern Europe
    Azergaijan
  • Belarus
  • Ukraine

Western Europe & Other Groups

  • Australia
  • Netherlands
  • Switzerland
  • Mexico
  • Two Other Nations
Does anyone else notice who is not listed on the bureau? That’s right, the United States. Apparently the leaders of our nation are considering a treaty with other nations, concerning the sale, distribution, and ownership of weapons, that clearly have humans rights violations and yet we have no one representing us in the bureau.

In a statement, U.N. watch executive director Hillel Neuer says, “Right after a UN Security Council report found Iran guilty of illegally transferring guns and bombs to Syria, which is now murdering thousands of its own people, it defies logic, morality and common sense for the UN to now elect this same regime to a global post regulating the transfer of guns and bombs. … This is like choosing Bernie Madoff to police fraud on the stock market. And the U.N.’s scandalous choice of Iran is exactly why we fear that Syria’s declared bid for a U.N. Human Rights Council seat is not impossible.”
One hundred and ninety-three countries voted unanimously in favor of Iran on the fourth day of the meeting. Does it make sense to anyone else that the vote was unanimous? This means that our own representatives also voted in favor of putting Iran in this bureau. Talk about skitzophrenic. The obvious question though is why?
Iran is already beginning to boast of the UN’s election in their state-controlled media.

This is just the latest in a long string of ridiculous things that the United Nations has done that simply warrants a call for America to not only get out of the United Nations, but to evict the United Nations from America.
