Donald Trump might be getting flack for not promising to accept November’s election results—but he’s not the only one.
A recent poll shows that a majority of Hillary Clinton supporters would, in fact, refuse to accept Trump as “legitimate” if he won on November 8th.
The YouGov poll, conducted on October 19-20, asked: "If Donald Trump wins the presidential election, will you accept him as the legitimate president, or not?"
53% of Hillary supporters said they would refuse to accept the legitimacy of Trump’s victory. A mere 31% said they would.
The numbers are more pronounced as voters get younger: 64% of Hillary voters under 30 would refuse to accept the Republican nominee as President of the United States.
On the other side, however, Trump’s voters are even more hostile to Hillary.
64% of Trump’s voters said they would refuse to accept Hillary Clinton as the legitimate President—showing that, no matter who wins in November, they face a tough road in winning over the other side and making progress in government.
