Ok fair enough ,however why not also investigate themselves in the shooting of white persons by police including by the FBI,ATF,US Marshalls {Ruby Ridge/Waco Texas etc},all local /state police et al.
IMO after serving for over 15 years in Law Enforcement Local as well as Federal I blame it on training,and a few bad apples 99% of LE officers do their job well, special interest groups instigating hate against the police,overreaction by the public when making 911 calls and the anti-2nd amendment activists...thus causing overreaction on both sides!
I can't count the times I had to draw down during a stop, search and arrest...when it got really scarry...however I never got to the point of popping the proverbial cap...I relied on my instincts of not being to the point of no return...taking a life...was I lucky or calm and collected on whether I would only fire if no other option was available...I would like to think I had the temperament and control.
That being said...in the police academies they are taught the 15' rule of a person with a knife thus allowing for the use of deadly force for just crossing the line...as well as if a fellow officer yells "Gun" it allows the officer to shoot whether or not he or she actually sees the threat! This is bad training I would only drop the hammer if I saw a actual threat...but thats just me...and I survived my career without taking a life or being killed...you be the judge...I'm not second guessing individual circumstances just pointing out some facts as related to my experience!
I blame both sides in the latest shooting as well as others from the past...I will post the links to make the point...and yes I am concerned as I have a CCW and carry in my retirement phase of life...just remember if a officer gives a order right or wrong comply you can sue later if your rights were violated!
