John Kasich: If Cruz Wants to Deal, “I’m Ready to Listen.”

John Kasich, says he’s willing to listen to any proposals from Ted Cruz , if it means preventing Donald Trump from gaining enough delegates to secure the presidential nomination.

The Washington Examiner In an interview aired Sunday on Fox News, Kasich denied he is acting a spoiler in race and effectively helping Trump win the nomination. He noted that he denied Trump delegates by winning Ohio.
“Nobody is gonna have enough delegates,” he said. “We are going to go to a convention. It’s going to be open.”
“I’m not in the this to stop somebody,” Kasich said.
“I’m the only one who can win in the fall,” he said, adding that he believes he is candidate most qualified to be president.

Kasich said that he is still focused on spreading his message everywhere because he believes it resonates with people. But he said he’d be “willing to listen” if Cruz proposed a deal.
Let’s look at the underlying message:
  1.  John Kasich has zero chance of securing the nomination through earned delegates.  ZERO!  But, instead of dropping out, he’s hoping to secure the nomination through a contested convention, where the will of the people might be subverted. What does that do to his chances in the general election if he actually does emerge the nominee on the second ballot?  Pitiful!
  2. If his mission was simply to deny Donald Trump the nomination, wouldn’t he just step out and allow Ted Cruz to battle head-to-head with Trump, since Cruz has at least proven that he can beat Mr. Trump in more contests than just his home state?  He admits that’s not his mission.  Again, John Kasich’s goal is nothing more than to subvert the will of the people during a contested convention, and somehow emerge the nominee.   He has no clear path to the nomination otherwise.
The people have already spoken.  We don’t want John Kasich for President.  Just step down and fade away...no deals #PERIOD
