For American Christians the story of Queen Esther and Mordecai in the Old Testament is one that reminds us that the entire history of the Jewish people has been filled with persecution and attempts at genocide. Haman was a vizier in the Persian (Iran) Empire under Xerxes I, and Haman desperately hated the Jewish people.
The story has played itself out in similar fashion several times throughout history, and while things may look bleak for a time, the Jewish people have always persevered and survived. However, some are worried that the Jewish people may have met their match in President Barack Obama.
The chief Rabbi of Efrat in Israel, Rabbi Shlomo Rifkin, recently connected President Obama to the great villain Haman. Speaking at the Jerusalem Great Synagogue Rabbi Rifkin said,
“The president of the United States is lashing out at Israel just like Haman lashed out at the Jews. I’m not making a political statement. I’m making a Jewish statement.”

A woman in crowd rose to protest saying that the Rabbi was being disrespectful, but the crowd booed loudly in his defense. The Rabbi called for silence and told those gathered that they did not need to defend him.
“I am being disrespectful because the president of the United States was disrespectful to my prime minister, to my country, to my future and to the future of the world.”

Haman -- The Great Enemy of the Jews

The Rabbi then went on to compare Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, favorably to Mordecai, who, along with Queen Esther, did everything he could to save the Jewish people from the evil Haman. President Obama conversely was compared to Haman for his efforts to endanger the people of Israel by strengthening their enemies and working against the state of Israel.
While President Obama battles ISIS and negotiates with Iran, he misses the key fact of the matter. In truth, there is no difference between Iran and ISIS other then the manner in which they choose to work to destroy Israel.

The Rabbi is right, and it should be to our shame that it is an American President who has done more to weaken the state of Israel than anything Israel’s true enemies could have even hoped to accomplish. President Obama is a danger to Israel, a danger to America, and a danger to the free world. The day he leaves office will be a great day for freedom and a great day for our world.
