Rupert Murdoch : Atheist Aziz Ansari Proclaims Muslims Innocent, Christians Evil

Nothing like a good flame war between a billionaire and a pack of minor celebrities to get the morning going. 

This time, Fox owner Rupert Murdoch got the ball rolling with a couple of tweets about Muslims' denial of culpability in terrorist attacks such as occurred in Paris last week:

"Maybe most Moslems peaceful, but until they recognize and destroy their growing jihadist cancer they must be held responsible. — Rupert Murdoch (@rupertmurdoch) January 10, 2015" 

"Big jihadist danger looming everywhere from Philippines to Africa to Europe to US. Political correctness makes for denial and hypocrisy. — Rupert Murdoch (@rupertmurdoch) January 10, 2015"

Taking great umbrage at such notions was self-proclaimed atheist Aziz Ansari, who has a regular part on the TV show "Parks and Recreation." Aside from his obvious theological credentials, Ansari's practice of an amoral, "non-religious" religion clearly qualifies him to point out real evil, as when he tweeted (warning, foul language ahead):

"@rupertmudoch Are you responsible for the evil shit all Christians do or just the insane amount of evil you yourself contribute to? — Aziz Ansari (@azizansari) January 12, 2015"

Or this:

"@rupertmurdoch, you’re already a vaguely evil media conglomerate guy and THEN you’re ALSO racist? FOR REAL?! You’re an evil overachiever!"

There were a bunch of other ones, but you get the idea. Basically, Ansari completely dismissed any notion of Muslim responsibility by tossing out assorted straw men like pedophile priests in the Catholic Church. Ansari even blames Murdoch for ruining the Golden Globes and John Lennon's death.

You can see why atheists pride themselves on being logical people.
According to Ansari's tweets, it's Murdoch and by extension all Christians who are "ignorant."
By the way, "racist"? Since when is Islam a "race"?
Pardon me, just an ignorant aside there.

For "non-religious" people, it's amazing how often atheists get their panties in a wad over religion, and how it's almost always only Christianity that can make them see red.
Perhaps that's what prevents them from actually understanding what they spend so much time complaining about.
Ansari is correct that Islam and Christianity have a few things in common, chief among them being that each has a holy book, the Bible for Christians and the Koran for Muslims.

There are some differences, however, that Ansari and other atheists may not be aware of.
In the Bible, for instance, Jesus Christ himself condemns unrepentant sinners and hypocrites. He tells his followers to do unto others as you would have others do unto you. His ministry was a mission of healing and forgiveness, but he was very explicit in stating that the unrepentant were not members of the Christian "club" even if they proclaimed themselves to be, and that anyone who didn't repent would be cast out.
Christian history has sadly often been a tale written in blood, but all those witch burners, inquisitors and crusading pillagers who commit murder and other crimes while proclaiming Jesus' name have a reserved seat in a very warm destination.
In the Koran, on the other hand, murder, thievery, lying and other sins are not only tolerated but encouraged for the purpose of expanding Muslim territory and political power.

As Pope Francis pointed out just the other day, such religions as fundamentalist Islam use God as a pretext for another agenda.
Mohammed was a warlord, there is no denying, and his legacy is one of violence -- against infidels, fellow Muslims, women and children. There should be no surprise there, and Islam's history is common knowledge. In fact, many of the conflicts Christianity has been dragged into and for which it gets blamed have been because of Muslim expansionism and intolerance.
Ansari seems unclear on why Muslims should be held accountable for Islamic terrorism but Christians shouldn't be held accountable for the acts of other individuals. The answer is self-evident.

Anyone claiming to be Christian who commits murder is not a real Christian. He is already condemned by his own actions. Real Christians do not behave in that way, and they teach their children to avoid violence whenever possible and to embrace forgiveness and mercy as their true tools.
A Muslim who commits murder in the name of the prophet, however, is doing as instructed by his Koran, his imam, his community and his family. When Muslims slaughter innocents, other Muslims dance in the streets. Seldom if ever is there any condemnation of terrorism from Islamic leaders or even common folk.
Their silence is deafening. That's why Muslims need to be held responsible, to shame them, to wake them up to the evil that they, as members of the Muslim community, have themselves helped to encourage.
