I for one am really growing weary of all the ranting and blaming guns,movies,games for all the school /workplace mass shootings/murders we are witnessing in todays world.
I grew up in the 60's Happy Days/American Graffitti...before religion was taken out of schools...kids were not given psych drugs for being a lil on the agitated side ~overly rambungches' ~hormones raging ..They were encouraged to participate in sports to relieve the tension.
As kids we played Army,Cowboys and Indians watched war and horror movies at the drive ins...we owned guns and went hunting...and yes semi automatic weapons were available... 22's,old M-1Carbines,and the infamous Thompson 45 cal machine gun among many others!
Rarely if ever were mass killings heard of...the most a kid had to fear at school was a fight over a girl/boy or lunch money and having to explain to dad/mom why ya lost the fight while trying to hide your black eye! Fights at school were rare but when they broke out the teachers would just break up the fight chew you out and give extra homework to those involved...no detention no suspensions...it was called 'mutual combat' ( a learning process) back in the day...and having to do extra homework was a good deterrent!
Oh and teachers actually taught the ABC's and kept their political opins to themselves...maybe they discussed in the break rooms with other teachers...dunno...but I do know they never injected their personal opins in the civics/history classrooms or any other irrelevant classroom...they asked the kids to form their own opins based on studies from history and current events!
So what is the cause of all the mayhem in todays world?...well imho based on what I was taught in the oldies 'school of thought'...I must put the blame on the new 'progressive movement'...everyone is equal...everyone needs chemical drugs to make us feel good.[or keep us in line]..never be allowed to excel as you might make someone else feel bad...everyone makes the team regardless of ability...never express your own opin...you must fall in line with the masses...'resistance is futile you must submit' ! I could go on for page after page on the why's but I will digress and let the reader add their own opin:)
