Parents, do you know what your children are being taught in elementary school?
Have you ever heard of Ready, Set, Respect!? It is an elementary school kit produced by GLSEN – Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network. They promote the curriculum as an anti-bullying program designed to help school administrators and teachers teach their students to all get along and to stop bullying based on differences. However, if you take time to look into the program, it is also designed to promote a homosexual lifestyle as being normal and acceptable.
Some parents in the Erie Community Unit School District complained to school officials about the gay curriculum being used with their children in the local schools. After looking into the complaint, the school board voted 5-2 to stop using the tool kit in the district’s elementary school. However, they will continue to use the gay curriculum for grades 6-12.
Superintendent Bradley Cox explained:
“Teaching diversity, tolerance, and anti-bullying to elementary schools was always done before without using GLSEN materials.”
Alliance Defense Fund attorney Jeremy Tedesco took the move as a positive step in protecting young kids from being unnecessarily indoctrinated with sexually explicit material. He commented that:
“Public schools should not be coerced by outside groups into indoctrinating students into homosexual behavior by exposing them to inappropriate sexual materials. Schools are supposed to be places of learning, not places where schools push propaganda on students.”
I’m surprised that the school board took this action as generally they only respond to the complaints of minority groups like gay activists. Now the parents of older kids need to start complaining to the school district about the use of the gay curriculum for grades 6-12. The younger students may be spared, but only until they reach 6th grade where they are still very impressionable and easily brainwashed by the perverse and sinful propaganda being pedaled as just anti-bullying material.
