Father of Murdered Reporter, who is campaigning for gun control, says he will have to get a firearm

Maybe he needs to become a crazy control advocate instead of a gun control advocate.
Check it out:
The father of Alison Parker, the journalist shot dead on live television on Wednesday, has said that now he is campaigning for gun control he will probably have to get a firearm to defend himself. [Say what? This has to take the oxymoron of the year award!]
Andy Parker, spoke to reporters on Friday after he visited the television station, WDBJ7, where his daughter worked before being murdered – along with cameraman Adam Ward – by their former colleague Vester Lee Flanagan.

He continued to push for stricter gun control in the United States, where decades of mass shootings have failed to produce meaningful reform.
“I want to go to the Virginia legislature and I want them to look me in the eye and tell me why we can’t have a reasonable proposal, any reasonable background checks, the things common sense dictates,” Parker said. “I want them to look me in the eye and tell me why they won’t support that.”

oped addendum: While I feel sorry for Mr. Parker's loss and grief, I have a problem with his coming out as a activist within hours of his daughters death! This was way too soon during the grieving process. It smacks of the progressive agenda of never letting a tragedy go to waste...How sad is this that a father would use his own daughters death to enhance his own career desires?
Side note:
Andy Parker father of Alison Parker has an interesting past...he began  his career as a paid actor after graduating from University of Texas. He appeared on Broadway in “The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas” and “Pump Boys & Dinettes” at the Kennedy Center.
He was an actor until 1985, when he started a marketing and sales career. Andy Parker served a four year term for Henry County Board of Supervisors.  (D)

Parker knows passing gun control measures won’t be easy. “I have to be a crusader on this,” he said. In addition to being determined, he’s also experienced, having been elected in 2003 to the Henry County Board of Supervisors where he served four years (D) – he’s now running to reclaim his old seat, at least he was at the time of his daughter’s death.

He was credited with numerous regional stage credits and regional as well as national television commercials. His Twitter account is configured to block public views of his tweets.
His FaceBook page labels him as a Politician. Finally on the very same day that his daughter Alison Parker met her demise he appeared on Fox News to interview with Megyn Kelly. During the interview he brought up gun control.

He claimed he would fight vehemently for gun control measures so that crazy people couldn’t access weapons. I find it concerning that he would turn his daughter’s death into a political debate...on the very same day of her demise.
