It’s no secret Rush Limbaugh is not a fan of the Democratic Party.
But now the radio star is threatening to sue the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee over his own sex-related comments he claims have been deliberately taken out of context and used in fundraising emails.
Limbaugh’s attorney sent a letter to the DCCC for Monday delivery, demanding a retraction and public apology.
The letter also demands the DCCC “preserve all records in anticipation of a lawsuit for defamation and interference” in the wake of its campaign against Limbaugh based on his statements regarding sexual assault.
The letter says the DCCC “has intentionally disseminated demonstrably false statements concerning Rush Limbaugh in a concerted effort to harm Mr. Limbaugh, and with reckless disregard for the resulting impact to small businesses across America that choose to advertise on his radio program. … Mr. Limbaugh clearly, unambiguously, and emphatically condemned the notion that ‘no’ means ‘yes.’”
In September, the DCCC sent out a fundraising email after Limbaugh made fun of new mandatory sexual-consent guidelines as Ohio State University. The policy instructs students to get verbal consent before having sex.
