Eric Holder Just Proved, In His Own Words, Why He Should Butt Out Of The Ferguson Investigation

“I am the Attorney General of the United States, but I am also a black man.” With that revealing statement, as reported in USA Today. Eric Holder showed exactly why he should not be involved in any way with the racially charged Ferguson incident. Holder is, by his own admission, too emotionally invested in the racial aspects of this disturbing investigation.
As the nation’s chief law enforcement officer, the Attorney General of the United States should be completely impartial and unbiased. Yet this Attorney General — who has freely and proudly acknowledged that he is an “activist” — now clearly thrusts himself, personally and provocatively, into the Ferguson mess.
This excerpt from the article in USA Today, entitled “Holder’s Stop in Ferguson is Deeply Personal”, should be enough for any thinking person to call for Holder to disqualify and distance himself from the animosities in Ferguson:

“I am the Attorney General of the United States, but I am also a black man,” Holder told Ferguson residents at a community meeting. “I can remember being stopped on the New Jersey turnpike on two occasions and accused of speeding. Pulled over. … ‘Let me search your car’ … Go through the trunk of my car, look under the seats and all this kind of stuff. I remember how humiliating that was and how angry I was and the impact it had on me.”

It is transparently ridiculous for Holder to bring his race-based prejudices into a situation that, in light of the heightened tensions, calls for a squeaky clean, fair, and impartial administration of justice.
