Obama attacked sectarian religious schools in Ireland because, as he put it, they cause division. The speech was bizarre but with a hidden purpose. Ireland isn’t divided politically because of its schools.
And how would this unity of purpose be accomplished if these sectarian schools did not exist? You guessed it. All the schools would be run by the State. Ed Morrissey writes: “[T]his makes a handy mechanism to call for the displacement of private education and religious instruction from education, with nothing left except state-controlled schools that indoctrinate children into whatever norms the governing/ruling class deem acceptable.”
Here’s part of what President Obama told his audience of about 2000 young people:
“We need you to get this right. And
what’s more, you set an example for those who seek a peace of their
own. Because beyond these shores, right now, in scattered corners of the
world, there are people living in the grip of conflict — ethnic
conflict, religious conflict, tribal conflicts — and they know something
better is out there. And they’re groping to find a way to discover how
to move beyond the heavy hand of history, to put aside the
violence. They’re studying what you’re doing. And they’re wondering,
perhaps if Northern Ireland can achieve peace, we can, too. You’re
their blueprint to follow. You’re their proof of what is possible —
because hope is contagious. They’re watching to see what you do next.”
Are we really to believe that the Muslim nations that are beheading
people, cutting open their chests and eating their hearts on the battle
field, bombing schools, mosques, and churches, stoning women for being
raped, persecuting Christians, putting people in jail because they are
no longer Muslim are looking to Northern Ireland to see what the people
there will do about their schools? This is insanity. There are thousands of Catholics and Protestants schools in America. Some of the finest scholars come out of these non-taxpayer funded institutions. The only conflict that I see is on the basketball court or the football field.
There’s an insidious hidden agenda here. Obama wants to eliminate all ideological competition. If he had his way, there would be no alternative news sources. The administration would send out news reports each day, and state-approved news people would read the news to a compliant and non-competitive people. Actually, it’s happening already as traditional media voluntarily support the president’s agenda without critique.
The modern liberal collective mentality is less extreme version of The Matrix, but it’s just as insidious. They want all children plugged into the collective so their energies can be used to grow the State and to be dependent on the State.
A statement that Benito Mussolini made comes to mind:
“Everything for the State, nothing outside the State, nothing against the State.”[1]
This is Obama’s motto and ultimate desire. He and his follow-liberals
have pulled a page from Adolf Hitler’s educational playbook:
“When an opponent declares, ‘I will not
come over to your side,’ [Hitler] said in a speech on November 6, 1933,
“I calmly say, ‘Your child belongs to us already. . . . What are you?
You will pass on. Your descendants, however, now stand in the new camp.
In a short time they will know nothing else but this new community.’
“And on May 1, 1937, [Hitler] declared,
“This new Reich will give its youth to no one, but will itself take
youth and give to youth its own education and its own upbringing.”[2]
One of the first think tyrannical regimes do is take control of
education. It’s taken a long time in the United States. A lot of
conservatives have blasted the President’s Ireland speech, but let’s
face facts, a majority of Americans voluntarily send their children to
government schools where there is no ideological competition.
