Pharmacist Breaks Silence, Reveals Drugs He’s Been Delivering to Congress

It is fairly common knowledge that some members of Congress have some sketchy pasts, some engage in corrupt behavior, and others are just generally incompetent.
What might not be so widely known is that members of Congress can get their prescription drugs delivered to them at the the Capitol so that they don’t have to go to a pharmacy, the health news website Stat reported.
The drugs are delivered to the Office of the Attending Physician by Grubb’s, a local pharmacy. Mike Kim, the owner of the pharmacy, had some pretty revealing statements about what his pharmacy does.

“At first it’s cool, and then you realize, I’m filling some drugs that are for some pretty serious health problems as well. And these are the people that are running the country,” Kim said.
Kim then went on to list out treatments for conditions ranging from diabetes to Alzheimer’s disease. Naturally, the Alzheimers remark attracted a lot of attention.
“It makes you kind of sit back and say, ‘Wow, they’re making the highest laws of the land and they might not even remember what happened yesterday,” he added.

Stat reported in a separate article that Kim quickly came out to clarify his remarks, claiming that he was simply speaking hypothetically, and was not aware of any member of Congress who had Alzheimer’s disease.
“I am not aware of any member that actually has Alzheimer’s and would certainly not disclose any such information if I did know,” Kim stated.
Kim might not have made a disclosure technically, but the idea is definitely cause for concern. Alzheimers is a very serious disease, with a profound impact on decision-making abilities. Even the thought that a member of Congress has it should be very worrying.
“I was speaking very broadly about disease states that the general American population have and that it also applies to everyone including members of the U.S. House and Senate since they are also people just like you and I,” Kim added.

Even if no members of Congress have Alzheimers, Kim’s statement about “pretty serious health problems” should be equally concerning. These are people that are tasked with running this entire country. They need to be at the top of their game.
Perhaps members of Congress should disclose any medical conditions that could impair their judgment, particularly if they are in charge of committees, or even in the presidential line of succession.
The American people have a right to know if the people tasked with keeping this country running have any problems that could hinder their ability to lead.
