House Democrat Backed By Insurance Companies Pushes Mandatory Gun Insurance

headlinestorypic [A face only a mother or progressive could love!]

oped: I for one am sick and tired of the looney left dictating every function of our collective lives...they are on a rampage to tax and insure us all to death!
How about we conservatives turn the tables on the looney left progressives...let us start by demanding they have mandatory/separate supplemental insurance for being pro-choice abortion related ...oh and tax them for not procreating a continuing tax base for the future this tax should also be levied on the Gay community at large~ those being pro-life exempted...mandatory /separate supplemental insurance for recreational drug users since they are more likely to harm themselves and others...mandatory supplemental insurance/registration for street (green) bicycle riders and pedestrians since they could fall into the path of a moving vehicle or another person! oh and tax them for using more oxygen than one who does not peddle or walk for transportation...see this is the problem with the looney left progressives they are opening a can of worms that will surely come back and bite them in the proverbial ass!

New York Democrat Carolyn B. Maloney showed her allegiance to some of her biggest campaign backers Friday by proposing legislation that would require gun owners to buy blatantly unconstitutional liability insurance:
House Democrat Rep. Carolyn Maloney (N.Y.) has introduced a bill that would require gun owners to carry liability insurance.
The Firearm Risk Protection Act, unveiled Friday, would require gun buyers to have liability insurance coverage before being allowed to purchase a weapon, and would impose a fine of $10,000 if an owner is found not to have it. Service members and law enforcement officers, however, would be exempt from the requirement.
“We require insurance to own a car, but no such requirement exists for guns,” Maloney said in a statement. “The results are clear: car fatalities have declined by 25 percent in the last decade, but gun fatalities continue to rise.”

Maloney manages to cram an impressive three lies into two sentences here, which is par for the course for this liberty-hating Congresswoman so deeply in the pockets of her investors.

There is no law mandating that Americans must purchase insurance to possess or own a car. Nor is there any tie whatsoever between liability insurance and the declining lethality of automobile accidents; the lives saved in motor vehicle accidents are best attributed to rapid advances in automobile safety technologies demanded by consumers (not government intervention) in recent decades.
And it should probably come as no surprise that Maloney is lying about firearm homicides as well. They are not only not rising, but they have continued a long-term decline, and are down 49% from 1993.
OpenSecrets.Org provides data suggests that Maloney may be pushing this legislation on behalf of the insurance industry, which has become one of her strongest campaign contributors.

The insurance industry has become increasingly vital to Maloney, becoming her third-leading source of campaign cash in 2014. In 2012 they were her fourth-leading source of campaign funds, and in 2010, were her sixth-leading source of campaign money.
We hope that Rep. Maloney isn’t influenced at all by the insurance companies that have become increasing important to her reelection efforts year-after-year, and we’d like to be certain that she’s not involved in any of the illicit scheming that is claiming one New York politician after another this year.
Unfortunately, Maloney has a proven track record of being dishonest, and a record of hating the right to bear arms, including another bill recently to build a de facto database of gun owners.
Fortunately, the congresswoman’s bills have no chance of getting anywhere in a Republican-dominated House and Senate.
