The once strong moral foundation of our culture and our civil government is melting and disappearing before our very eyes.
If you are as old as I am, you remember a time when you couldn’t have imagined or predicted that homosexuality would have encroached on our culture as it has. I think it is safe to say that it was unthinkable.
The rapidity with which militant activists continue successfully to bully the culture into normalizing what once was universally considered abnormal is breathtaking. And toleration of their behavior has not seemed to satisfy them. Allowing their views to be taught in schools has not appeased them.
To the contrary, they insist that societal endorsement extend to redefining marriage to include what God forbids.
As we observe Independence Day in America, we should remember that those who signed the Declaration of Independence would be incredulous; they would be outraged; they would be incensed at these events.
You see, they considered Sodomy to be so dangerous to society that it was a capital crime under the common law.
How did they come to this understanding?
Well, they read the Book.
In Chapter 3 of the Book of Proverbs, we are reminded not to lean on our own understanding, but to trust in the Lord and follow His Word.
His Word tells us in Leviticus that sodomy (as well as bestiality) is an abomination.
That warning from the Almighty was sufficient for earlier Americans. They obeyed and lived and prospered.
We are smarter, of course. We have invented Courts and Judges who tell us what “law” is, so we don’t need the Word of God anymore.
That is why America is dying.
